Mediterranean sailing holidays

Greece, Croatia and Italy. A sailing trip shaped around your group. Together we choose the yacht, crew support and pace of the week: more time sailing, relaxed swimming stops or evenings in harbour towns. Before you decide, you receive a clear proposal explaining the services and costs.

Why sail with SkiSail.Co

Trusted fleets
We act as your adviser and independent intermediary, finding yachts and catamarans from vetted owners in Greece, Croatia, Italy and other destinations.
A route for your crew
We plan around your crew’s experience, dates, budget and the kind of trip you want. If our skippers are booked, we help you find a trusted external skipper.
Calm at every stage
Experienced skippers and people who handle the logistics. Clear communication from the first message until you step ashore.

Choose your type of cruise

Bareboat charter

You skipper the yacht or catamaran yourself. We help you choose the boat and guide you through booking with a trusted owner.

For qualified skippers, families and groups of friends who want full independence.

What this formula offers
A yacht without crew. Someone in your group with the required licence skippers it; the owner gives a briefing at the base.
How the price is built
The yacht charter price with what the owner lists in the offer. Separately: the refundable security deposit and shared onboard expenses (fuel, marinas, provisions).

Skippered cruise

An experienced skipper – one of ours or from our trusted network – is responsible for safety, navigation and harbour manoeuvres. You relax and, if you like, learn to sail.

For families and friends who want a sailing holiday without skippering themselves.

What this formula offers
The skipper is responsible for navigation, manoeuvres and safety, and plans the route around conditions and the group. Guests can help with mooring or sails but don’t have to. Hospitality service is not part of it.
How the price is built
In addition to the yacht charter price, you pay the skipper’s fee and cover the skipper’s food during the trip. Your proposal will show each cost and how it is settled before you book.

Fully crewed cruise

The most comfortable option: the skipper sails the yacht while a host looks after comfort and the shared areas on board. Meal preparation depends on what is agreed for the chosen package.

For couples, families, friends and business guests who want more privacy and fewer chores.

What this formula offers
The skipper sails the yacht while a host looks after comfort and the shared areas. The host’s role, including any meals, is set out in the offer. It is not a private chef or hotel-style cabin service.
How the price is built
Your quote will separately show the yacht charter and the skipper’s and host’s fees. It will also explain crew provisioning arrangements and the remaining trip expenses.
Ask about this option

A chef or additional crew is only available as a separately quoted option, where the owner offers it. Availability of yachts, skippers and hosts, and the scope of service, depend on dates, sailing area and owner. Charter, deposit, payment and cancellation terms are confirmed in your individual offer before booking.

Destinations

White cliffs and a turquoise bay with yachts

Greece

The Ionian Sea is a great choice for a family holiday: beautiful bays, short hops between islands and good infrastructure.

For example: From Lefkada: Meganisi, Ithaca, Kefalonia (Fiskardo) and Kalamos.

An aerial view of a catamaran on turquoise water

Croatia

Hundreds of bays and islands, plenty of marinas and routes that are easy to fit to your crew’s pace.

For example: From Split or Trogir: Šolta, Brač, Hvar, Vis and Korčula.

Yachts in a bay at sunset

Italy

For those who want to combine sailing with Italian food and a more distinctive kind of trip.

For example: Sardinia: the La Maddalena archipelago and Corsica; Sicily: the Aeolian Islands.

These are example routes. The final plan depends on the departure base, your crew’s needs, the weather and the skipper’s decisions.

Sample route

An Ionian week, imagined

7 nights · A sample private sailing week with a skipper · Start and finish: Lefkas Marina

Coffee on deck, a swim in a sheltered bay and a different harbour to explore. This example links Meganisi, Kefalonia, Ithaca and Kalamos, with time for sailing and being ashore. Your week is shaped around your group, the yacht and the conditions.

  1. Day 1 · Welcome aboard in Lefkas

Settle into your cabins, meet your skipper and get comfortable with life aboard. After the boat briefing and preparations, enjoy your first evening in Lefkada town.

  2. Day 2 · Vathi, Meganisi: ease into island life

Sail towards Meganisi, with a swimming stop if conditions allow. Vathi is the suggested evening destination, with time to wander through the village and choose somewhere for dinner.

  3. Day 3 · Fiskardo, Kefalonia: a harbour evening

Continue towards northern Kefalonia. Spend the afternoon between the water and the waterfront, then explore Fiskardo’s lanes and tavernas.

  4. Day 4 · Kioni, Ithaca: slow down

Head across to Ithaca and the small bay of Kioni. A swim, a walk among the village houses and an unhurried waterfront dinner make a simple plan for the day.

  5. Day 5 · Kalamos: a greener setting

Sail towards Kalamos, where pine-covered slopes meet the sea. Choose a suitable bay for a swim before spending the evening around the island’s harbour or at an appropriate anchorage.

  6. Day 6 · Sivota, Lefkada: another harbour to discover

Turn back towards Lefkada and the bay of Sivota. Leave room for a swim along the way and an evening ashore at your own pace.

  7. Day 7 · Return to Lefkas

Make your way back to the charter base, allowing time for the agreed return and boat handover arrangements. A final dinner ashore rounds off the week.

  8. Day 8 · Until next time

Disembark according to your charter’s agreed schedule and continue your journey home.

Sample route. This is an illustrative itinerary for a charter starting and finishing at Lefkas Marina. The skipper adjusts the route, swimming stops and overnight locations to the weather, sea conditions, berth availability and your group’s preferences. No individual stop or berth is guaranteed. Embarkation and return arrangements are confirmed for your yacht. Meals and activities described here are ideas for the week, not a statement of package inclusions.

Costs and logistics

Most Mediterranean cruises follow similar rules. The total is made up of separate items – your offer always shows what’s included and what you pay separately.

  1. Saturday to SaturdayMost charters run for a week, from Saturday to Saturday.
  2. Check-in around 17:00Saturday afternoon: paperwork at the base, yacht handover, shopping and getting ready to sail.
  3. Check-out around 9:00The following Saturday morning. Often the yacht returns to the marina on Friday evening.

Times and return rules vary by charter company, country and base.

1. Yacht charter
The yacht or catamaran and whatever the owner lists as included, for example part of the starter pack. Your offer always shows what is included.
2. Crew
With a skipper you pay the skipper’s fee and food; with crew, the skipper’s and host’s fees and food for both. Your offer shows this separately from the yacht price.
3. Refundable security deposit
Security for the owner against damage or missing equipment, returned after the trip under the supplier’s return and deduction conditions. A deposit is not an advance booking payment.
4. Shared onboard expenses
The yacht kitty: fuel, marinas and buoys, water and electricity, and provisions – as applicable to your package.
5. Extras and personal spending
Selected extras (such as additional equipment) and your own spending ashore.

Your proposal separates the yacht and agreed crew costs, refundable security deposit and expected onboard expenses. It also explains what is included and what is paid separately.

Our role

We don’t lock you into one port or a catalogue package. We check boat availability, season, destination and your crew’s experience, then propose a route and type of cruise. The final route always depends on the weather, the skipper’s decisions and safety rules.

Our passion

At SkiSail.Co we live for wind, water and open space. As a team of experienced sailors we have spent thousands of hours at the helm – from the Ionian Sea to Croatia and selected Italian waters.

We know how hard it is to find the right boat, a trustworthy owner and a route that really suits the trip. So we connect you with vetted fleets and look after your holiday as if we were planning it for ourselves.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a licence to charter a yacht?

Not if you choose a skippered or fully crewed cruise. A licence is only needed for a bareboat charter; we confirm the requirements before booking.

What if you can’t skipper the cruise yourselves?

We will tell you clearly and propose a trusted boat and an external skipper or host with the right qualifications.

How does choosing a bareboat yacht work?

Tell us your dates, destination, budget and group size. We present selected yachts or catamarans, you decide, and we help you through the booking. Our advice is free unless your offer states otherwise.

What does a fully crewed cruise mean?

The skipper sails the yacht and runs the route; a host keeps things tidy and prepares meals and drinks as agreed. Duties are set before the cruise.

Which destination do you recommend for families?

The Greek Ionian Sea and Croatia. The final choice depends on dates, budget, children’s ages and your crew’s experience – so we first ask what your ideal week on the water looks like.
